Final SoMMet project meeting in Istanbul

The final M36 meeting of the SoMMet project took place on 9 and 10 September 2025 at TÜBİTAK UME in Istanbul, Türkiye. The meeting was organised in a hybrid format, with most consortium members attending in person and other participants joining remotely.

During the two-day meeting, the partners reviewed the work completed across the project's technical and supporting work packages. They also coordinated the remaining deliverables, final reporting and dissemination activities.

The on-site programme included a live demonstration of the portable transfer standard developed by TÜBİTAK UME. The system operates in the visible–near-infrared (Vis–NIR) range and is based on fibre-coupled spectrometers. The demonstration enabled the partners to see the measurement system in operation and discuss its application to soil water and moisture measurements.

The Istanbul meeting marked the final formal gathering of the SoMMet consortium before the project concluded at the end of September 2025.
